My name is Rejina Bugati. I am 22 years old. I come from a village named Dadeldhura. The women in my village are forced to marry around the age of 17 or 18. It is also very difficult to find a job. I am a married woman. It was an arranged marriage. I was uncertain about how my husband would view me. Since I did not know him, I felt very insecure about our future together. My husband and I moved to Kathmandu 3 months ago. Because of our financial situation, I asked my husband to help me find a job. He heard about Local Womens Hadnicrafts and suggested that I should apply. I was relieved about having his approval and felt that this would be a safe work place for me. I am happy for the opportunity to work here. I am so happy to see so many employed women, I have never seen this in my life. The handicraft skills I hope to learn here, I feel, will help me so much anywhere I go in the future. It was my dream to become a doctor or a nurse. However, it is not possible in my situation. My new goal in life is to learn handicraft skills and bring them home and teach the women in my village.
